Laptop Loaner Policy

  • Loans begin on the first day of each semester and end on the last day of final exams. Equipment must be picked up on campus.
  • Students can loan out laptops for two weeks twice per semester (for a total of 4 weeks) if stock is available. Renewals must be done in-person, and the student is required to fill out the rental agreement for each loan and renewal.
  • A valid OneCard and a Verification of Enrollment form is required for all loan outs and renewals to show proof of active registration and student status.
  • All equipment must be returned to the ICT Service Desk.
  • The ICT Service Desk staff will verify that equipment and accessories have been returned.
  • The ICT Service Desk is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged property, including loss of data due to hardware or software malfunctions. Students use of loaner laptops is at their own risk. Always back-up your data.
  • The loaned equipment must be returned by the end of the rental period free from any damage (normal wear and tear excepted). The cost to repair or replace loaned equipment that is assessed as damaged by ICT Service Desk staff will be the responsibility of the student. The student will be charged the cost of the repair or full replacement cost of the laptop (up to $1700).
  • Items that are not returned within 14 days of the due date will be considered lost and the student will be issued an invoice for a full replacement cost of the laptop (up to $1700). If the laptop has not been returned 7 days after the invoice is issued, a hold will be placed on the student’s LORIS account.
