There are many ways that students at Laurier can have a positive impact towards sustainability on campus. We encourage you to explore our programs and services to learn how you can live more sustainably while at Laurier.

Sustainability at Laurier 

  • The Sustainable Hawk Fund allocates $30,000 each year to grow sustainable ideas on campus.
  • Laurier has sold over 125 jars of honey harvested at its apiary on the Waterloo campus. 
  • There are a number of bike storage facilities located on Waterloo and Brantford campus.
  • VRTUCAR and Enterprise eliminate the need for a car with their carshare services on campus and nearby.
  • Each year, the Move Out Program collects about 4,500 lbs of clothing, textiles, e-waste and non-perishable food.
  • In 2018, Laurier introduced its first pop-up Freestore to help students save money and the environment. 
  • Laurier has collected over 17,000 textbooks for reuse in partnership with Textbooks for Change
