Laurier’s Co-Curricular Record (CCR) is your record of student involvement at Laurier. It is as an institutionally recognized chronicle of student engagement and student leadership involvement.
All qualifying activities must be added to your CCR by March 31 of each year. Activities cannot be added retroactively.
Why Have a CCR?
Your CCR demonstrates that you have been a dedicated and involved member of your community. It provides a validated record of your involvements and will help you communicate your achievements when applying for future on-campus opportunities, potential jobs, and graduate schools. It will also help you reflect on your experiences and identify skills you’ve developed.
The CCR website also serves as a search tool to help students find new opportunities to become involved at Laurier.
As of 2016/17, both the Waterloo and Brantford campus co-curricular record websites will be open as of September. This will allow you to search for opportunities right away as well as allow for a course tracking system in Brantford.
However, you will not be able to log in and add positions until late in the fall term. This is because you must actually participate in the volunteer experience before adding and reflecting on the experience.
What Qualifies for CCR Recognition?
You can add activities to your record if they have been approved by the CCR administration. Qualifying activities must meet all four of the following criteria:
- Provides students with meaningful learning opportunities.
- Is co-curricular in nature and is not required for academic credit.
- Meets validation process requirements.
- Supports and fosters transformational experiences as opposed to transactional services.
For more detail, see Getting an Activity in the Database.
If you believe an activity you have been involved in meets all the criteria but is not listed on the CCR website, encourage your supervisor or the activity leader to contact a CCR administrator.
