The Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (FGPS), Laurier International and the Graduate Students’ Association (GSA) are pleased to host Laurier’s Graduate Community Cook-off on Thursday, March 9 at 3:30 p.m. at Veritas Café by the GSA.
The cook-off is the first in a series of events this March celebrating graduate student success at Laurier.
Share Your Creation
Do you have a favourite dish that you use for celebrations, for comfort, or as a tradition? We are looking for Laurier graduate students to share their favourite dishes with our community at the cook-off.
Interested participants can register on the GSA’s website. All registrations received by Feb. 24 will be considered. If selected, you will have an opportunity to work with our in-house chef to create your dish for the cook-off. All supplies and materials, including ingredients, will be funded through the event.
All entries will be included in a graduate students’ cookbook, and the winning dish will be featured on the Veritas Café menu.
Did Someone Say “Free Food?"
For those not sharing a dish, help us celebrate the diversity of our graduate student community by sampling some of our graduate student creations and casting your ballot for the best dish.
The event and the food are free for students, faculty and staff. So, get there early; we will have enough to share, but we expect the food to go quickly.
Celebrating Graduate Student Success
March is a month-long celebration of Laurier's graduate student community. The campaign, "Celebrating Graduate Student Success," will highlight the contribution to knowledge, culture and service made by Laurier’s graduate student community.
Starting on March 9th, "Celebrating Graduate Student Success" will feature three community-driven initiatives including the Graduate Community Cook-Off, Kernels of Knowledge and our annual 3MT.
The FGPS will also have a series of giveaways throughout the month so follow our social media accounts closely.
