Wilfrid Laurier University has appointed Patricia Goff, associate professor in the department of Political Science, as the acting associate dean of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (FGPS). She will succeed Brent Wolfe who was appointed as the acting associate vice-president and dean of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
“I am excited to join the FGPS team,” said Goff. “I’m looking forward to contributing to the important work that FGPS does to support Laurier graduate students and grad programs.”
Goff joined Laurier in 2003 after teaching in the Political Science Department at the University of Utah. She received her PhD in Political Science from Northwestern University, holds a Diplôme d’études approfondies in Comparative Politics from the University of Paris, and a Master of Arts degree in French Literature from McMaster University.
Goff’s research focuses on international political economy, international relations theory, and international organizations. The knowledge gained from her research helps her support students in international political economy related programs with research interests in international trade, or the interplay of international organizations.
“I am very pleased to welcome Patricia and the considerable graduate program and administrative experience that she will bring to the FGPS team,” said Wolfe. “I very much look forward to working with Patricia in her new role as associate dean.”
