Learning Strategies in a Remote Environment

The Accessible Learning Centre (ALC) and Laurier want you to feel confident starting the new term. Getting Prepared for remote learning is a great place to ensure you have your technology set up for remote learning! 

The Centre for Student Success has created a Remote Learning: Student Support Hub to guide students with the completion of assignments, readings, and course-related tasks. The “Golden Guide” will also help build planning and organization skills.

ALC students are encouraged to connecting with their Learning Strategist, Erin Riggin, and Kwame Sarpong (Waterloo) or Tammy Bartolo (Brantford) for assistance and support. Appointments are available through virtual online delivery methods.

ALC Learning Support

We provide group workshops and individualized sessions focused on learning strategies and study skills development for all students registered with the Accessible Learning Centre (ALC). We offer sessions in a variety of topics such as:

  • Time management/self-management
  • exam writing strategies
  • note-taking and reading stratigies 
  • study skills 
  • Writing support
