Laurier is committed to creating a community where everyone feels respected, supported, and safe. Accessible Learning strives to uphold these values in every interaction with students, their parents and supporters, faculty, staff, and visitors.
We will:
To help us maintain a positive and inclusive environment, we ask that you:
In keeping with Laurier’s commitment to a safe campus environment and in accordance with university policies, the following behaviours will not be accepted when interacting with Accessible Learning staff—in person, by phone, email or Teams/Zoom:
If these behaviours occur, staff may pause or end the interaction and follow university procedures to ensure safety and wellbeing.
Repeated violations—or any single serious incident—may result in temporary limits on in-person contact or a suspension of services to support a safe environment. Situations of concern may also involve intervention by other university departments, such as Special Constable Services (SCS), Safety, Health, Environment and Risk Management (SHERM), and Student Conduct.
We recognize that navigating academic accommodations can be stressful. We are here to support you—and we value the kindness, patience, and collaboration that make Laurier a stronger community for everyone.
