Online Summer Orientation

About Online Orientation

Starting July 16, all incoming Laurier students will gain access to our Online Summer Orientation. Whether you are new to Laurier or new to Canada, the goal of the online summer orientation program is to provide you with additional information to help you prepare for Laurier, connect you with current students and staff throughout the summer and make sure you feel comfortable when you arrive on campus.

The Online Summer Orientation was designed to give you insights into what you can expect from your first year at Laurier. The program uses MyLearningSpace, Laurier’s online course management system. The orientation includes student and faculty testimonials, how-to videos, downloadable resources, live chat sessions with current students and fun quizzes to test your Laurier knowledge. Online orientation modules include:

  • A mid-summer check-in to make sure you haven’t missed any steps in your preparation for Laurier.
  • An overview of student life, including best places to eat on and off campus.
  • Strategies to help you prepare for a university-level learning.
  • A comprehensive FAQ section to answer all your remaining Laurier questions.
