Your Student Success summer checklist
We've created a list of everything you need to be doing this summer to help set yourself up for success in the fall.
Check Your Academic Status and Determine Your Time Ticket
Starting in June, log in to LORIS and navigate to Student Services > Registration > Prepare for Registration.
From here, you can confirm your program, year level and registration time ticket.
Make sure that you don't have any holds on your account that may prevent course registration.

Review Your Program Requirements and Build Your Schedule
Access the academic calendar for the year you entered your major or log into MyDegree to determine your required courses for both the fall and winter terms.
Use the Visual Schedule Builder to create your timetable and write down the CRNs for quick and easy registration.
Register Your Fall and Winter Term Courses
On LORIS, navigate to Student Services > Registration > Prepare for Registration to determine when course registration will open for you to register for your 2023/24 courses.
We recommend that you register as soon as you can once registration opens to have a better chance at getting into your preferred courses.
Apply for Government Funding
Returning students must submit a new OSAP application for each academic year on the OSAP website.
To ensure that your funding is in place for the beginning of the school year, we recommend that you apply after you register for courses in July.
Research Campus Resources, Supports and Opportunities
Don't forget that campus departments are open and available during the summer, including Student Success!
The Career Centre is also open throughout the summer. Incoming students will get access to Navigator, Laurier's career development and experiential learning hub as of Aug. 1. This system is where you'll find on-campus job postings, local volunteer and job opportunities, the Co-curricular Experience Catalogue (clubs and activities you can get involved in on campus), workshops, appointments and so much more.
Explore Opportunities to Get Involved on Campus
Whether it's joining a club, taking on a volunteer role, or working part-time, there's something for everyone!
Some areas you can find opportunities to get involved in include:
Access and Pay Your Invoice
Your fall term invoice will be available on LORIS starting in August and will be due on the first day of classes, Sept. 7, 2023.
Be sure to review your invoice and have it paid in time to avoid any late fees.
Stay Connected!
Be sure to check your MyLaurier email throughout the summer for important updates, whether or not you are taking courses this term.
