    Coming Soon: A Modern LORIS Experience

    On Dec. 18, 2025, LORIS (Laurier’s Online Registration and Information System) will have a modernized interface designed to enhance usability, streamline navigation and deliver a unified digital experience tailored to you.

    Why are We Modernizing LORIS?

    LORIS has been due for a refresh. The current system has been around for a while and wasn’t built for how students use technology today. That’s why we’re modernizing LORIS with Ellucian Experience, a new cloud-based platform that brings your tools, links and info together in one easy-to-use, personalized dashboard.

    This update will make LORIS easier to use and maintain across all devices, help everything work together more smoothly and set the stage for future improvements.

    What are the Benefits of the New LORIS Interface?

    The new LORIS interface is designed to make things simpler and more personal, so you can stay organized and find what you need faster. Key features include:

    • Personalized dashboards that let you customize your LORIS experience with the tools and content most relevant to you.
    • Card-based layout presenting tasks, notifications, and content in a clear, modular format.
    • Dynamic content and real-time updates to keep information current and easy to access.
    • Mobile-responsive design ensuring a consistent experience on desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

    What Does this Change Mean for Me?

    This update will make LORIS easier to use, more personalized, and better suited to how students, faculty and staff work and learn at Laurier. After the launch, when you log in, you’ll notice:

    • A modernized interface with simplified menus and dashboards.
    • Easier navigation to frequently used tools and information.
    • A personalized experience, where you can configure your dashboard to match your needs.
    • Everything you use is still available. The look and layout are refreshed, but all your familiar tools and features are still there.

    To help you get comfortable with the new interface, ICT has prepared several on-demand resources:

    • LORIS User Guide: Step-by-step instructions on how to navigate the updated interface and personalize your dashboard.
    • LORIS Information Page: Important notices, glossary of terms and common error messages. 

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Why does my dashboard look different than my friends?

    LORIS dashboards are customizable, so each user’s layout may look a little different. You can pin, remove, or reorder cards to highlight what matters most to you. Try bookmarking your most-used cards and dragging them to the top of your homepage to make navigating to the information you need faster.

    I removed a card from my LORIS homepage and now I can’t find it. Where did it go?

    Don’t worry, you can easily restore it. Click See All Cards in the top-right corner of your dashboard to view every available card. When you find the one you want, pin it back to your homepage by selecting the bookmark icon in the top-right corner of the card.

    Will I still use my existing LORIS login?

    Yes. You’ll continue to sign in using your Laurier Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials, just as before. Only the interface and navigation have changed, your login process and access remain the same.

    Can I access LORIS on my phone or tablet?

    Yes. The modernized LORIS interface is fully mobile-responsive, meaning you’ll have the same functionality and intuitive layout on your phone, tablet, or desktop. You can log in through your browser as usual – no app download required.

    Can I create my own card with links that are important to me?

    Yes! Click See All Cards and look for the MyLinks card. This feature lets you add your own custom links, such as your lab syllabus, Google Docs or any frequently used website, for quick access right from your dashboard.
