OSAP: Winter Term Extension
Complete the OSAP Winter 2026 Extension form if you are a Laurier student whose current full-time 2025-26 Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) application indicates fall study period dates only for full-time registration in the winter term.
Completion of this form will be required if you:
- dropped below a full-time course load or withdrew in fall 2025 after receiving full-time OSAP (resulting in a changed end date of full-time studies on your original full-time OSAP application), or
- are a co-op student with a fall only application for a study term or work term, or
- have been advised by the Laurier Financial Aid Office to complete the form (i.e. due to a change in marital status or program)
If your current full-time OSAP application already indicates a study period end date of April 2026 then you do not need to complete this form unless advised to by the Laurier Financial Aid Office.
To extend your full-time OSAP application, you must:
- Have a completed fall only full-time OSAP application and have already received full-time OSAP funding for the current fall term.
- Be enrolled in the minimum full-time course load (60% course load or higher or 40% course load or higher for students with a registered disability).
How to Submit
- To extend an existing fall full-time OSAP application through the winter term, complete an OSAP Winter 2026 Extension form. Refer to the co-op information if you are enrolled as a co-op student during the winter term.
- Do not complete a new OSAP application if a previous full-time application was completed for the fall term of the current academic year.
If you have not previously applied for full-time OSAP during the current 2025-26 academic year, submit a new OSAP application (minimum 12-week study period required in
full-time course load for new winter application January - April).
Winter Extension Form Processing Timeline:
- The Laurier Financial Aid office cannot begin processing OSAP Winter Extension forms until fees for the winter term registration have been added to Laurier student accounts (approximately late November to early December).
- All forms are processed in the order in which they are received. Your OSAP application funding summary and LORIS status will update once your form has been processed.
- If more than one form is submitted for the same student, only the most recent form will be processed.
- Extension forms must be submitted no later than 40 days before the end of the extended study period.
