On Monday, Oct. 21, Canadians from coast to coast will vote in the federal election.
If you are a Canadian citizen aged 18 years by election day, you are eligible to vote.
Voting is a pretty cool privilege, so why not exercise your right? Every vote counts and can add up to real change in Laurier’s host communities.
Here’s what you need to know if you plan to vote in Canada’s federal election.
Who’s running? What do they stand for? What do they plan to do if elected, and how will that impact you as a student? Learn more about the candidates running in your electoral riding.
Elections Canada will hold voting on select postsecondary campuses from Oct. 5 to Oct. 9. Laurier’s Waterloo campus is included in Elections Canada’s campus voting dates.
You can vote at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 80 University Ave. W., on the following days and times:
If you choose to vote during these times, you will vote using the special ballot process. Bring photo ID with you.
You can vote in advanced polls held from Oct. 11 to Oct. 14 near Laurier’s Waterloo and Brantford campuses.
If you choose to vote during these times, you will vote using the special ballot process. Bring photo ID with you.
If you choose to vote on Election Day, you will vote at the voting station identified on your voter information card. Your voter information card is sent to the permanent place of residence that Elections Canada has on file. Visit Elections Canada’s website to check or update your permanent place of residence.
