Laurier Dean of Students offices distribute care kits ahead of final exam period
March 18, 2021
Wilfrid Laurier University students will soon begin preparing for final exams, marking the final stretch of an academic year like no other.
To recognize the resiliency, compassion, care and accomplishments of students, Laurier’s Dean of Students offices in Waterloo and Brantford will distribute 500 care kits designed to help students study, stay well and show their Golden Hawk pride. The care kits are made possible through the generous support of Laurier donors and the Students' Union, with funds from the Laurier’s Student Life Levy.
The student care kits have items linked to each of the five senses, and include:
- A Laurier candle, handmade by small-business owners in Brantford and Cambridge
- Blue-light filtering glasses
- AWAKE chocolate, founded by Laurier alumnus Matt Schnarr (BBA’ 98)
- Earplugs
- A hot-cold pack
To request a care kit, students can complete an online form and select a pick-up time and campus location. All pick-up appointments will be physically distanced and follow COVID-19 protocols. Pickup will not be available on Friday, April 2 or Monday, April 5 at either campus.
