Everyone has the right to be free from the fear of sexual assault and the right to be part of a community that supports their safety.

As part of Sexual Assault Awareness month in May, the Office of Dispute Resolution and Sexual Violence Support at Wilfrid Laurier University is supporting the following initiatives. All are open to Laurier faculty, staff, and students.

    • The How I Dress is Never a Yes campaign on Instagram, developed in partnership with Ryerson University and Carleton University.
    • The Planting Seeds writing group: Participants can follow @Planting_Seeds_Healing on Instagram for daily journal prompts throughout July and write their reflections in a journal provided by the Office of Dispute Resolution and Sexual Violence Support. Register by June 18 to receive a journal.
    • A Consent is Golden Survivor playlist on Spotify. The playlist was created by followers of Laurier’s Consent is Golden Instagram account. Songs included on the playlist inspire feelings of hope and resilience.

    Supports and Resources

Campus and community supports in Waterloo Region and Brant are listed on the Laurier student website. Emergency support can be accessed through Laurier’s Special Constable Service, the SAFEHawk app, or by calling 911.
