Leave your mark on Laurier Brantford by contributing to this paint-by-numbers mural
Students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the university are invited to pitch in with the painting of “Forever Golden” — a paint-by-numbers mural in the Research and Academic Centre (RAC) that celebrates the 25th anniversary of Laurier’s Brantford campus.
The innovative design from artist Stephanie Scott, who created the much-loved “Stay Golden” mural at Laurier’s Waterloo campus, incorporates feedback from a survey delivered to Brantford campus students, alumni, faculty, staff and community partners. In a twist on that earlier mural, the painting of “Forever Golden” is to be tackled as a team effort, with members of the campus and broader community taking turns to paint each numbered section.
To join in the painting process, stop by the Stedman Lobby in RAC during a designated painting session. Choose a numbered section of the mural you’ll be able to paint in the time you’re available (anywhere from five minutes to an hour) and staff will provide you with the appropriate paint colour and use of a paintbrush and apron. No previous artistic experience is necessary: Simply stay inside the lines when adding your splash of colour to the canvas!
Planned painting sessions are as follows:
- Wednesday, Nov. 6, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Thursday, Nov. 7, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Tuesday, Nov. 12, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Thursday, Nov. 14, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Although participation is on a drop-in basis (no registration is required), previous completion of the free Ladder Safety Training module on My Learning Space is encouraged. (Ladder safety certification will expand your choice of mural sections to paint.)
Don’t miss this chance to leave your mark on Laurier Brantford. “Forever Golden” is bound to become a focus for Golden Hawk pride for decades to come!
