Notice regarding Grand River Transit (GRT) potential strike 

GRT bus and MobilityPLUS operators, mechanics, reservationists, and service attendants will be in a strike position as of May 1, 2026. In the event of a strike, GRT buses and MobilityPLUS will no longer run. ION light rail service will continue.

Wilfrid Laurier University is currently on academic break with classes resuming for the Spring and Summer term on May 4, 2026. The university is open, and classes, services and programming continue as scheduled. Students, faculty and staff who rely on the GRT service to commute to and from our university campuses are advised to make alternative travel plans.

We ask that faculty and managers be understanding about the potential challenges this situation may present for some of our community members.
