GG102 Winter 2019 Instructional Assistant (IA) Marking Positions

The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies invites applications for instructional assistants for the Winter term of 2019 in GG102: Introduction to Human Geography.

Duties: Instructional Assistants are responsible for marking lab assignments and tests as directed by the Lab Coordinator of GG102 in the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies. Instructional Assistants are provided a marking guide with minimal discretionary grading.

Other responsibilities may include: preparation; marks database management; meetings with the instructor or lab coordinator; marking of final exams. 

The usual time commitment is 10 hours per week. However, some weeks IAs may be required to work more (or less) than 10 hours per week because of time-sensitive course requirements such as mid-term exams, term papers, lab reports or final exams.

Qualifications: Qualified applicants must be registered in a program within the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies or a related discipline. We invite applications from 3rd and 4th year undergraduates in good academic standing. Only if there are no Laurier students who meet the qualifications of the position will a non-Laurier student be considered.

Compensation: $18.50 /hr as per marking only rates.
