Department of Geography and Environmental Studies GG102 Introduction to Human Geography 2024/2025 Instructional Assistant (IA) Marking Positions
The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies invites applications for Instructional Assistants (IAs) for the Fall 2024/Winter 2025 terms in GG102: Introduction to Human Geography.
Duties: Instructional Assistants are responsible for marking lab assignments as directed by the GG102 Lab Instruction Coordinator in the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies. Instructional Assistants are provided a marking guide with minimal discretionary grading. Other responsibilities may include meetings with the Lab Instruction Coordinator and marking of midterm/final exams.
The usual time commitment is 10 hours per week. However, some weeks IAs may be required to work more (or less) than 10 hours per week due to time-sensitive course requirements in marking lab assignments, mid-term exams, or final exams.
Instructional Assistants are expected to be available for in-person meetings on campus and marking when required.
Qualifications: Qualified applicants must be registered in a program within the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies or a related discipline. We invite applications from 3rd and 4th year undergraduates in good academic standing. Only if there are no Laurier students who meet the qualifications of the position will a non-Laurier student be considered.
Compensation: $21.54/hr as per marking only rates.
