MA348A: Statistical Methods for Data Analysis

Calendar Description

This course provides a broad overview of modern statistical methods for data analysis. Statistical methodology may include linear and generalized linear models, multilevel modelling, nonparametric methods, resampling theory, point-processes, survival analysis and functional data analysis.

Prerequisites

ST362 or equivalent courses from other departments.

Evaluation

A final mark out of 100 will be calculated as follows:

  • Assignments: 15%
  • Midterm Test (Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, 10 a.m. - 11:20 a.m. in class): 25%
  • Project: (Tuesday, Apr. 3, 2018): 25%
  • Final Exam (2.5 hours, exact date, time and location to be announced): 35%

The final mark will be reported as a letter grade in accordance with the conversion table of the current undergraduate calendar.
