First-Year Program Requirements: Martin Luther University College

Progression

  • In order to progress from year-to-year for most honours programs, you will require an overall grade point average (GPA) of 5.0 (C) and at least a cumulative 5.0 GPA in your honours subject courses.
  • Refer to the university regulations section of the academic calendar for details on progression and graduation requirements.

Christian Studies and Global Citizenship                    (Christianity, Interfaith Dialogue, and Community Engagement)

Required First-Year Courses: GC101, GC102.

You should register in GC101, section A, B or C in the fall term, and GC102, section A in the winter term.

Note: You must also complete 1.0 credits in non-English language study. You are strongly encouraged to fulfil this requirement in your first year.

Course Load

To earn an Honours Degree, you will need to complete 20.0 credits:

  • 0.5 credit: Normally conducted over one term
  • 1.0 credit: Normally conducted over two terms

If you are studying part-time, you can take up to 1.5 credits per term. Full-time status is given to students who take 2.0 or 2.5 credits per term.

If you select 2.5 credits in the fall term and 2.5 credits in the winter term, you can complete an Honours Degree in four years.
