    What is a Profile?

    Print | PDF

A profile is an online application for a competitive scholarship, award or donor-supported bursary. Awards are granted based on the information you provide, including your interests, community involvement such as volunteering, financial need, academic achievements and more!

Once you submit the profile, you’ll automatically be considered for competitive scholarships, awards, and bursaries, recipients of awards are notified by email between October and April.

Some sections require one or more essay questions. After ten minutes of inactivity, your session will time out. If this occurs, you may access your current information on the "View My Applications" link of the Student Awards/Financial Aid menu. You can also watch this tutorial video!

table contains steps to complete the profile

    1.

    Find your Profiles

To find your profile, log into your LORIS account and look for the “Student Awards and Financial Aid” at the the top of the page.

On the “Student Awards and Financial Aid” tab you will see three links:

    Click on "Student Awards Applications”.

    2.

    Select the Profile

Before you can select your profile, first you will need to select your "Select Aid Year and Period" and  "Application".

Luckily, LORIS will already have the current aid year and period selected so you only need to click continue!

    3.

Confirm that you want to Start your Profile

Click "Continue" to start this application.

    4.

    Start your Profile!

To begin your profile click on the sections linked. Always start on the first section and remember to "Mark this section complete" before continuing to the next screen.

If you do not select "Mark this section complete" before continuing to the next screen your application will show as incomplete and you will not be considered for competitive scholarships, awards, and bursaries.

An easy way to double-check is by looking for these icons.

Heads up: After ten minutes of inactivity, your session will time out. If this occurs, you may access your current information on the "View My Applications" link of the Student Awards/Financial Aid menu.

    5.

    Submit your Profile

After you start your profile, your submission can be accessed through the “View my Applications” tab.

    web-capture_6-7-2022_103728_loris.wlu.ca.jpeg

Your submissions can be reviewed and changes can be made up until the deadline by clicking "view/modify".

Make sure that the application "status" shows “submitted” once you submit your application.

If your "status" shows "Unavailable to View Modify" means your application is under review. However, if it shows as "expired" indicates that the profile is now closed and can not be edited by the student.

Pro-Tip: this is also where you can find the application deadline.
