    Laurier Spring Orientation:
    Graduate Schedule

    Graduate Student Orientation is a chance for graduate students beginning their studies to engage with the graduate student community at Laurier. You'll have the opportunity to discover key strategies for success, learn about campus resources, and connect with fellow students, staff, and faculty.

    Only register for the campus you will be attending in the spring 2026 term, as each orientation is customized for the campus/programs offered:

    • Brantford Campus
    • Waterloo Campus
    • Virtual Campus

    Brantford Campus Orientation

    Date and Time: Monday, Jan. 5, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Location: One Market Atrium (OM100) and Level 1 Lounge (OM116)

    Join us for opening remarks and a welcome from the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, Dr. Brent Wolfe, to kick-off the day.

    Where: Level 1 Lounge

    Start your graduate journey with a warm welcome from Usama Mir, Program Coordinator for the Master of Applied Computing (MAC) program. This session will cover essential program details, academic expectations, and other helpful information to support your success as you begin your studies.

    Hear from current graduate students in your program as they share their experiences, insights, and strategies for success throughout your studies.

    Explore key services designed to support your graduate journey. Campus partners will share brief overviews of their areas and how to access their resources. Use this session to identify supports that matter most, then connect with partners over lunch for questions.

    When: 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
    Where: Level 1 Lounge

    Join us for an icebreaker designed to help you connect with fellow graduate students in a relaxed, low-pressure setting. Share interesting facts, discover common interests, and start building meaningful connections with your peers in a fun and welcoming environment.

    When: 12:15 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
    Where: Level 1 Lounge

    Enjoy lunch while continuing conversations from Orientation. Connect with fellow graduate students and campus partners, explore available resources, and build relationships to support your success.

    When: 12:30 p.m. to 1:20 p.m.

    Explore campus with a guided tour showcasing classroom locations, key resources, important buildings, and hidden gems. Get familiar with the spaces that will support your success as a graduate student.
