Menstrual Equity Program

The menstrual equity program aims to ensure all Laurier students who menstruate have access to free period products across our campuses. The program helps to address financial barriers to menstrual products and provides you with options in case you don't have your products with you.

Free Period Product Locations

Plastic-free pads and tampons made with organic cotton are available in Waterloo, Kitchener, Milton, and Brantford. Here's where you can find these products on campus:

Waterloo Campus

• Science Building (gendered women's washroom across from Dean’s office, room 1015 and gendered women's washroom across from stairs)
• Library (main floor, gender-neutral washroom)
• Martin Luther University College (main floor, gender-neutral washroom)
• Concourse (gendered women's washroom)
• Fred Nichols Campus Centre (second floor in 24-Hour Lounge, gender-neutral washroom and two in the hallway around the corner)
• Bricker Academic Building (gendered women’s washroom on first floor at front door and gender-neutral washroom on fifth floor)
• Arts Building (gender-neutral washroom around the corner from the Hub and Concourse)
• Peters Building (gender-neutral washroom on first floor beside room 118)
• Lazaridis (gender-neutral washroom on first floor)
• Athletic Complex (gender-neutral washroom, first floor room 117)
• Music (gender-neutral washroom in Practice Studio, across the driveway)

Kitchener

• Faculty of Social Work (first floor, gender-neutral washroom)

Brantford Campus

• Carnegie (basement, gendered women's washroom)
• Grand River Hall (gender-neutral washrooms near GRH 101 classroom)
• RAC East (gender-neutral, near room 127)
• RAC West (gendered women’s washroom near room 205)
• Student Centre (first floor, gendered women’s and men’s washrooms)
• One Market (gender-neutral washroom on second floor in hall by lounge)

Please note that dispensers in Brantford are paused during the summer term.

Milton Campus

• MEVIC (gender-neutral, gendered women's, gendered men's, and second gendered women's by side entrance)

• weekly Distro program run by LSPIRG and Martin Luther
• Laurier Food Bank run by the Students’ Union (request them to be added to parcel)

Partnerships

Initiated by the Laurier Students' Public Interest Research Group (LSPIRG) and in partnership with Aunt Flow, the menstrual equity program is overseen by the Sustainability Office under the direction of the Menstrual Equity Committee.
