Laurier’s sexual violence policy (12.4 The Prevention of Sexual Violence Policy and Procedures) outlines the institutional system of response to sexual violence, including support and prevention.
The policy outlines options for those impacted by sexual violence to receive support and accommodations, as well as the procedures for accountability and formal complaint processes. Laurier does not condone sexual violence and strives to foster a culture of consent.
Under legislative requirements, the Sexual Violence Policy is reviewed every three years. As part of Laurier's commitment to sexual violence prevention and support, we are seeking Laurier students’ engagement in our Community Consultation process for the Sexual Violence Policy.
We request your feedback on the policy, and its procedure, to inform potential changes to the policy to better support the needs of the Laurier student community. We encourage your participation and sharing your voice to inform changes to our sexual violence policy. We strive to be responsive to student needs and have that be reflected in our sexual violence policy.
The data from the Community Consultation will be retained for five years and will be accessible to the manager, Sexual Violence Response and Sexual Violence policy review committee.
There are several ways to engage in Laurier’s Sexual Violence Policy Community Consultation. Your participation is voluntary. No specific questions are required and you can choose to stop engaging with the community consultation process at any time.
Complete the online questionnaire, open from March 24 to April 5.
Participate to enter for a chance to win one of three $100 grocery gift cards. You can choose to provide your email address to enter the draw. Once the contest is complete, the survey data (in particular the email address) will be de-identified before the data is reviewed.*
