Residence Declaration and UHIP Eligibility

As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, restrictions have been put in place to limit travel to Canada. These restrictions and Laurier’s decision to offer the Fall 2020 academic term remotely means that, as an international student, you may or may not have the option to travel to Canada and complete your studies remotely while residing on campus or within Ontario.

As per the Government of Canada, only international students with a valid study permit issued on or before March 18, 2020 are exempt from current travel restrictions and may travel to Canada if you’re travelling for a non-discretionary or non-optional purpose and:

  • you’re an international student who has a valid study permit, or
  • you were approved for a study permit on our before March 18, 2020, or
  • you’re coming from the United States.

Please complete the travel declaration form to determine your eligibility for coverage under the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) for the Fall 2020 term.
