You can also receive mental health and addiction care at the Emergency department of Grand River Hospital. Grand River Hospital provides emergency mental health and addiction assessments 24 hours a day.
Urgent support is always available at the Student Wellness Centre during regular office hours. If you feel too overwhelmed to cope, if you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, or if you have recently experienced a traumatic event, contact us or drop in for an appointment. Please tell reception that your concern is urgent.
There are options available to you if you have experienced sexual violence. To discuss these options, or for assistance with referrals, safety planning or advocacy, contact Laurier’s Sexual Violence Support Advocate Sarah Scanlon.
Immediate medical assistance is available at Waterloo Region Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Treatment Centre at St. Mary's General Hospital. This is a 24-hour service for women over 16. You can contact them by phone weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 519.749.6994, or access them directly at the emergency departments of St. Mary's General Hospital or Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
24-7 phone support is available through Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region’s 24-hour Support Line. You can reach them at 519.741.8633.
