The Career Centre receives hundreds of postings from employers each year, recruiting for off-campus summer and part-time employment. These opportunities may be viewed on the career portal, Navigator.
Part-time opportunities are posted in Navigator throughout the year and range from retail, food service, tutoring, and administrative jobs. The Career Centre’s marketing campaigns in August result in an influx of part-time opportunities posted in Navigator in August and early fall. Full-time students seeking part-time work should carefully consider how employment will fit into their academic and personal lives. It’s important to prioritize studies, manage time effectively, and avoid overcommitting to ensure school performance doesn't suffer. Flexible work hours, proximity to campus or home, and the ability to take time off during exams are especially valuable. Students should also think about how the job aligns with their long-term goals and whether it builds skills and competencies.

Summer jobs are posted starting in September and are received on an ongoing basis, with the majority of jobs being posted between December to April. The Career Centre receives a wide range of opportunities in various geographic locations up to a year in advance. Recruitment for accounting, finance, and government positions starts early in the fall term. Early in the winter term, there is an influx of summer job postings for opportunities at camps, provincial parks, community organizations, and government programs like Canada Summer Jobs.
