Innovation Spaces

Innovation spaces across Laurier campuses foster student-centered activities and meaningful collaboration with mentors, staff, faculty and community partners.

Innovation spaces can be reserved by students, faculty and staff for activities that align with Laurier's goals and values. To reserve a space, unless otherwise specified, complete the Innovation Spaces Booking Form.

Lazaridis Hall

The Schlegel Centre main office is located on the first floor of Lazaridis Hall in Waterloo. Our staff is always happy to discuss entrepreneurship and social innovation of all forms across Laurier. Come visit us anytime and find out how you can get involved.

Apply the skills you have learned and practiced in our LaunchPad incubator where you will do it for real. LaunchPad provides the environment, resources and expert advice to bring your ideas to life.

Communitech Data Hub

The Communitech Data Hub is the home to our Waterloo LaunchPad incubator. Startups are provided workspace in this dynamic, collaborative space. Located in a heritage building in the heart up uptown waterloo, the Data Hub provides our startups with a functional but fun community environment. Come check it out!

Accelerator Centre

The Accelerator Centre is home to our LaunchPad startups who have reached the stage where they are able to grow and scale their businesses. These companies are provided with free collaborative work-space in Waterloo, Accelerator Centre resources and programming in order to help their startups get to market faster, increase sales and continue to scale.

Purpose Lab

The Purpose Lab is located in the Dr. Alvin Woods Building on Laurier's Waterloo campus. It was envisioned and designed as a space that would encourage all students at Laurier to come and collaborate on inspiring, changemaking ideas.

The Purpose Lab was made possible by generous donations from both the Wilfrid Laurier University Alumni Association and the Student Life Levy Fund.

Community Innovation Hub

The Communitech Innovation Hub is the home to our Brantford LaunchPad incubator.

Located in the heart of Laurier Brantford in the Market-Darling Centre, the space provides our startups with workspace and resources to allow their companies to grow and succeed. The Community Innovation Hub is the go to place on campus for those involved in social innovation and entrepreneurship. Designed to provide those who wish to gain and develop an entrepreneurial mindset with a collaborative and community driven workspace

Laurier Community Hub

The Laurier Community Hub (LCH) is a collaboration space for community-based research, teaching and practice for the Waterloo Region. This dynamic, interdisciplinary community hub leverages Laurier’s considerable strengths in community-based activities and experiential learning across individual departments, programs and service units.

The LCH consolidates cross-disciplinary strengths, keeps a pulse on community-based activities across campus and offers rich experiential learning opportunities. The LCH effectively meets the increasing needs and challenges identified by local government and community-based organizations across the Region.

The Laurier Community Hub is located on the second floor of 232 King St., Waterloo and is currently under construction. Details about booking the space are forthcoming.
