Laurier Leadership Summit

On Jan. 7, 2017, the Centre for Student Life and Engagement and several campus partners are extremely excited to host the sixth Leadership Summit at Wilfrid Laurier University. Whether first year or senior year; graduate or undergraduate; Kitchener, Brantford or Waterloo campus; new or returning; emerging or established; paid or unpaid – all Laurier students are welcome!

Taking place on the Laurier Waterloo campus, this one-day leadership conference aims to support and enhance the culture of student leadership engagement; provide meaningful and quality leadership training and development to students; and strengthen the identity of a Laurier leader.

This year's Leadership Summit theme is Agents of Change. This theme reflects the steering committee's belief that all Laurier students have the potential and capacity to lead positive social change in all aspects of their lives. The Leadership Summit will aim to engage students in leadership learning and development by exposing them to a range of leadership concepts, skills, and best practices. The theme also represents the steering committees endeavour to help students clarify personal passions, goals, and ultimately their purpose both at Laurier and beyond as they listen to and share leadership lessons and stories with fellow peers, faculty, staff and distinguished alumni.

This year we are excited to welcome Zach Ingrasci to the Leadership Summit as our closing keynote speaker. Zach co-founded the Living on One project, and co-wrote, produced and starred in the award-winning documentary Living on One Dollar which follows his experience of living on $1 a day for two months in rural Guatemala.
