12-Week Courses

January

• Jan. 2: Co-op work term begins.
• Jan. 8: Winter term courses begin. Tuition fees due.
• Jan. 8 – 12: If you drop/withdraw from 12-week courses during this time period, no tuition charged.
• Jan. 13 – 19: If you drop/withdraw from 12-week courses during this time period, you are responsible for 10% tuition (assessed at course rate).
• Jan. 15: Application to Graduate form (without late fee) is due for Spring Convocation.
• Jan 16 – Apr. 1: Late penalty fee applies on Application to Graduate forms received for Spring Convocation.
• Jan. 19: Last day to add 12-week term courses (including online learning).
• Jan 20 – Mar. 10: If you drop/withdraw from 12-week courses during this time period, you are responsible for 55% tuition (assessed at course rate). All incidental fees are also non refundable during this penalty period.

February

• Feb. 19: Family Day (statutory holiday), no classes. 
• Feb. 20–23: Winter Reading Week.

March

• March 11: Last day to drop course(s) or withdraw from 12-week course(s) without failure and for possible tuition adjustment (assessed at course rate).
• March 29: Good Friday (statutory holidays), no classes. 

April

• April 1: Last day to submit Application to Graduate form (penalty fee applies) for Spring Convocation. No forms will be accepted after this date.
• April 8: Make-up Friday class for March statutory holiday; Classes end.
• April 9 – 10: Study days.
• April 11 – 27: Final examinations - Students are advised not to make travel commitments during this time.
• April 26: Co-op work term ends. 
• April 27: Winter term ends. 
• April 30: Co-op work term ends for students working at CPA firms. 

May

• May 27 - June 1: Winter term deferred examination period. An appeal for a deferred examination must be submitted to the academic unit in which the course is offered. The deferred examination dates are confirmed, if approved, in writing from the petitions committee.

6-Week Courses

January

• Jan. 8: First 6-week courses begin. Tuition fees due for 1st and 2nd 6-week courses for Winter.
• Jan. 8 - 10: If you drop/withdraw from first 6-week courses during this time period, no tuition charge.
• Jan. 11 -  12: If you drop/withdraw from first 6-week courses during this time period, you are responsible for 10% tuition (assessed at course rate).
• Jan. 12: Last day to add first 6-week courses.
• Jan. 13 - Feb 4: If you drop/withdraw from first 6-week courses during this time, you are responsible for 55% tuition (assessed at the course rate). 
• Jan. 23: Last day to add second 6-week courses.

February

• Feb. 5: Last day to drop from first 6-week courses without failure and for possible tuition adjustment.
• Feb. 5: From this date until the end of first 6-week courses, if you drop/withdraw you will receive academic penalty (failure) and are responsible for 100% tuition.
• Feb. 16: First 6-week courses end.
• Feb. 19: Family Day.
• Feb. 20 - 23: Reading Week, no classes.
• Feb.26-28: If you drop/withdraw during this time period, no tuition charge.
• Feb. 26: Second 6-week courses begin.
• Feb. 29 – Mar. 1: If you drop/withdraw from second 6-week courses during this time period, no tuition charge.

March

• March 2 - 24: If you drop/withdraw during this time period, you are responsible for 55% tuition (assessed at course rate. 
• March 25: Last day to drop second 6-week courses without failure and possible tuition adjustment. 
• March 25: From this date until the end of second 6-week classes, if you drop/withdraw you will receive academic penalty (failure) and are responsible for 100% tuition.
• March 29: Good Friday (statutory holiday), no classes. 

April

• April 8: Make-up Friday class for March statutory holiday; Classes end. 
• April 9 - 10: Study days.
• April 11 - 27: Final examinations - Students are advised not to make travel commitments during this time.

12-Week Courses

February

• Feb. 23: Registration opens at 10:00 a.m. (including Online Learning), until the deadline to add courses.

March 

• March 6: Last day to register in at least one spring course without the late registration fee (including Online Learning). 
• March 7: Late registration charge will be applied. Avoid this charge by selecting courses (including online learning) prior to this date. 
• March 15: Application deadline for students requiring "Application for Admission" for part-time studies for spring term (not applicable to incoming Letter of Permission students). 

April 

• April 1: Last day to submit Application to Graduate form (penalty fee applies) for Spring Convocation. No forms will be accepted after this date. 

May

• May 1: Co-op work term begins.

• May 6: Tuition fees due. 
• May 6–10: If you drop/withdraw from 12-week courses during this time period, no tuition charged.

• May 20: Victoria Day; no classes.

June

• June 4: Spring Convocation (Brantford Campus)
• June 10-14: Spring Convocation (Waterloo Campus)
• June 30: Application to Graduate opens in LORIS for Fall Convocation

July

• July 1: Canada Day (statutory holiday), no classes
• July 2: Last day to drop 12-week spring term course(s) or withdraw without failure and possible tuition adjustment.
• July 29: Make-up Monday class for May statutory holiday.
• July 30: Make-up Monday class for July statutory holiday; Classes end.
• July 31 - Aug 1: Study Days. 

August

• Aug. 1: Application to Graduate form (without late fee) is due for fall convocation.
• Aug. 2 - 16: Final examinations - Students are advised not to make travel commitments during this time. There are no examinations scheduled on the Civic Holiday weekend (August 3, 4, 5).
• Aug. 2: Late penalty fee applies on Application to Graduate forms received for Fall Convocation.
• Aug. 5: Civic holiday, no examinations scheduled on the Civic Holiday weekend (August 3, 4, 5).
• Aug. 15: Last day to submit Application to Graduate form (penalty fee applies) for Fall Convocation. No applications will be accepted after this date.
• Aug. 16: Spring term ends. 
• Aug. 26 - Aug. 31: Spring term deferred examination period. An appeal for a deferred examination must be submitted to the academic unit in which the course is offered. The deferred examination dates are confirmed, if approved, in writing from the petitions committee.
• Aug. 30: Co-op work term ends.

• May 11- June 3: If you drop/withdraw during this time period, you are responsible for 55% tuition (assessed at course rate). All incidental fees are also non-refundable during this period.
• May 20: Victoria Day (statutory holiday), no classes

June

• June 3: Last day to drop intersession course(s) or withdraw without failure and for possible fee adjustment.
• June 4: Spring Convocation (Brantford Campus).
• June 10-14: Spring Convocation (Waterloo Campus).
• June 17: Make-up Monday class for May statutory holiday; Classes end.
• June 18-19: Study Days.

• Aug. 26 - 31: Intersession deferred examination period. An appeal for a deferred examination must be submitted to the academic unit in which the course is offered. The deferred examination dates are confirmed, if approved, in writing from the petitions committee.

13-Week Courses

January

• Jan. 8-12: If you drop a course or courses (students enrolled in programs where fees are based on course load) or withdraw from your graduate program (all graduate students) during this time period, there is no tuition charge. Note: Students who withdraw from the graduate degree program must complete the Request to Withdraw from Graduate Studies Form.
• Jan. 8: Winter classes begin.
• Jan. 8: Tuition fees due.
• Jan. 13-24: Last day to drop winter term course(s) with no tuition charge but remain registered (students must remain registered in at least one course) (students enrolled in programs where fees are based on course load).
• Jan. 15: Application to Graduate form (without late fee) is due for spring convocation.
• Jan. 16–April 1: Late penalty fee applies on Application to Graduate forms received for spring convocation.
• Jan. 19: Last day for late registration and adding winter term courses.
• Jan. 19: Last day to drop winter term course(s) (students enrolled in programs where fees are based upon course load) or withdraw from the graduate program (all graduate students) at 10% tuition charge.
• Jan. 20- Mar. 10: If you drop a course (or courses) (students enrolled in programs where fees are based on course load) or withdraw from your graduate program (all graduate students) during this time period, you will be assessed a 55% tuition fee.
• Jan. 30: Final day for submitting final (post-defence) copy of dissertation/thesis/MRP (if applicable) to Scholars Commons, and receipt in the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Office of signed program/defence documentation for possible full refund of winter term fees.

February

• Feb. 19: Family Day.
• Feb. 20–22: Winter Reading Week.

March

• Mar. 11: Final day for submitting final (post-defence) copies of dissertation/thesis/major research paper (if applicable) to Scholars Commons, and receipt in the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Office of signed program/defence documentation for possible tuition adjustment (tuition charge assessed 55%).
• Mar. 11: Last day for withdrawing without failure from winter term courses or from the graduate program and for possible tuition adjustment (tuition assessed at 55%).
• Mar. 12: From this date until the end of term, if you drop a winter term course (students enrolled in programs where fees are based on course load) or withdraw from your program (all graduate students), you will receive academic penalty (failure) and are responsible for 100% tuition. 
• Mar. 29: Good Friday, no classes. 

April

• Apr. 1: Last day to submit Application to Graduate form (penalty fee applies) for spring convocation. No forms will be accepted after this date.
• Apr. 15: Make-up day for Friday March 29 (Good Friday).
• Apr. 15:  Winter and fall/winter 13-week session classes end.
• Apr. 26: Co-op work term ends.
• April 27: Winter term ends.
• April 30: Final day for completion of all coursework, receipt of final grades and/or submitting final (post-defence) copy of dissertation/thesis/MRP (if applicable) to Scholars Commons, and receipt in the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Office of signed program/defence documentation to be eligible to graduate at Spring convocation and for medal consideration.

6-Week Courses

March

• Mar. 24: Last day to drop second 6-week course(s) without academic penalty (failure).
• Mar. 25: From this date until the end of the second 6-week classes, if you drop second 6-week course(s), you will receive academic penalty (failure).
• Mar. 29: Good Friday, no classes. 

April

• Apr. 8: Make-up classes for Good Friday. 

13-Week Courses

May

• May 1: Co-op work term begins.
• May 6 to 10: If you drop a courses (students enrolled in programs where fees are based on course load) or withdraw from the graduate program during this period, there is no tuition charge. Note: Students who withdraw from the graduate degree program must complete the Request to Withdraw from Graduate Studies form.
• May 6: Spring term courses begin.
• May 6: Tuition fees due.
• May 11 to 17: Students enrolled in programs where fees are based upon courseload and who drop any course(s) in this period (even if replaced with another course or courses) will be assessed 10% of the tuition fee for the dropped course(s).
• May 17: Last day for late registration and for adding spring term courses (including Online Learning).
• May 18 to July 2: If you drop a course (or courses) (students enrolled in programs where fees are based on course load) or withdraw from your graduate program (all graduate students) during this time period, you are responsible for 55% tuition.
• May 20: Victoria Day; no classes.
• May 31: Final day for submitting final (post-defence) copy of dissertation/thesis/MRP (if applicable) to Scholars Commons, and receipt in the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Office of signed program/defence documentation for possible full refund of spring term fees.

June
