You can take YC200 as an optional program requirement.
Winter
Email sussex@wlu.ca with your choice of 200-level HI course in fall to enrol in this course. You will be pre-registered in HI293 in the winter term.
Recommended Electives: EN111, EN119, HR100, ID100 (VA), ID120, LY100, PP110.
Students must complete all required Year 1 courses to progress to Year 2 with a minimum overall GPA of 8.0 (B) and an HI GPA of 7.0 (B-).
This temporary designation allows you to explore disciplines in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Human and Social Sciences before declaring a major at the end of your first year:
Email Brantford Campus Academic Advising to review your course selection and pathway to your preferred major.
You can complete an undergraduate certificate in Non-Profit Career Foundations as part of your program. If interested, take OL140 as an elective this year.
You can also complete a postgraduate certificate with Conestoga College in your third year and have it count toward your degree. For more details see "Human Rights Articulation Agreements" on this page. If you'd like to keep this option open, take OL140 as an elective this year.
Take HR200, HR232, HR261, OL233, PO263, and other 200 or 300 level HR courses of your choice.
Winter
You will be pre-registered in PO263 in the fall term.
Recommended Electives: CC100, EN241, ID120, LY100, OL140, PP110, SOJE100, YC100.
Students must complete all required Year 1 courses to progress to Year 2 with a minimum overall GPA of 8.0 (B) and an HR GPA of 7.0 (B-).
Winter
This program must be completed in combination with another honours discipline. Refer to your other major’s program requirements to complete your registration.
Consider taking ID100. It can be used toward optional major requirements.
Recommended Electives: LY100, HR100, HI124, SOJE100, YC100.
Register in ID120 (fall) and a combination of ID201 (VA), ID227, ID302, ID309 (VA), ID375 or ID386 (VA) in the winter term. ID309 can be taken in fall if you have interest in this course.
Consider CC203 (VA) or EN241 as electives. They can count toward optional LY program requirements.
Recommended Electives: CC100, EN111, HI124, HR100, ID120, PP110, SOJE100.
Register in LY201 and LY202.
Register in a selection of OL233, LY203, LY205 (VA), LY212, LY214, LY232, LY235, LY250, or LY309 and a maximum of 3 courses from EN241, HR219, HR260, PP201, PP213, UX307, YC310, YC319.
If you are interested in declaring a specialization in Politics and Public Policy, take LY203, and 1 or 2 courses from the following: PO263, HR327, HR323, LY250 or HR328.
Consider CC203 (VA) or EN241 as electives. They can count toward optional LY program requirements.

Winter
All UX courses must be taken in the Brantford Campus sections (BR). You cannot take the virtual (VS) sections of these courses.
If you are interested in declaring a minor in Critical Game Studies, take DD101 as an elective. You can also use DD102 toward the minor if you have interest in this course.
Recommended Electives: DD101, DD102, ID120, OL101, OL140, PS101, PS102.
VA courses are found under Virtual Campus.
Recommended electives: EN241, HR100, ID100 (VA), SOJE100, SK111 (VS), SK121 (VS), UU100 (VS)
Consider CC200, EN201 or EN285 as electives. They can be used toward optional program requirements.
It is recommended to take PS101 and PS102 in different terms. They are not prerequisites of one another so can be taken in any order.
If you would like to complete a minor in Mental Health and Well-Being, take SK121 (VS) or UU100 (VA) as an elective this year.
Thinking about becoming a teacher? Keep your options open by completing a teachable in English, History, Geography (VA) or Science (BI or CH). Take 1.0 credit from the course offerings in your teachable area in place of electives.

Register in YC200, YC201, and your choice of YC230 (VA), YC310, YC326, YC340, EN201, EN285, CC200, ID302 (winter).
To earn an Honours Degree, you will need to complete 20.0 credits:
If you are studying part-time, you can take up to 1.5 credits per term. Full-time status is given to students who take 2.0 or 2.5 credits per term.
If you select 2.5 credits in the fall term and 2.5 credits in the winter term, you can complete an Honours Degree in four years.
