An off-campus advisor works with the advisor team to plan regular programming for first-years and is there to answer any questions students may have on school, academics, the city, or just life in general.
Reports to: Coordinator, Off-Campus Initiatives
Time Commitment: Five to seven hours per week and Orientation (including Off-Campus Welcome Day)
Link Leader (Specialized-OCA Focus) Details:
For the 2026/2027 academic year, we will have one OCA lead each Link. To make sure we have Links up and running, it is possible that a student leader's flexibility to lead a Link is considered in the hiring process. Note: Being a Link Leader is not meant to increase the workload of Off-Campus Advisors. All non-Link Leader OCAs will have to lead a minimum of 2 social events each month. All OCAs that are leading a Link will have to lead a minimum of 1 Link event and 1 social event per month. Both totalling a minimum of 2 events per month.
Successful Candidates will:

Applications are due by Wednesday March 11th, 2026, at 11:59pm
Interview Details:
Successful applicants will be tasked with creating a presentation to present to the hiring panel during their interview. The presentation will outline why they are the ideal candidate for the position they are applying for. Presentations should be 5-7 minutes in length. Candidates can present in any format that they would like. Slides/visual components are not required, but may be used for this presentation; a prepared verbal response is satisfactory.
Your presentation should also address the following question:
What is the biggest challenge off-campus first-year students face? Please describe 2-3 ways in which you would try to minimize this challenge.
After the presentation, the interview panel will ask a series of questions relating to the off-campus advisor role.
Interviews will take place mainly on March 17th with few timeslots available on March 18th. All interviews will be in person on the Milton campus.

The marketing and engagement executive works directly with the Off-Campus Advisor (OCA) team to amplify and promote all programming offered through the LOCUS program. Special focus and support will be given to increasing the social media presence of the LOCUS program across various platforms.

Please note, that this role is exclusively on the Waterloo campus. All other positions are available on the Brantford and Waterloo campuses.
The Campus Liaison collaborates with the Students’ Union and Residence Department. The Campus Liaison works with the LOCUS Representatives on the FYLP’s Campus Councils to facilitate opportunities for leadership development and growth. In addition, they maintain regular communication with the Students’ Union Orientation Team to ensure LOCUS is aware of all updates and events.
