    Homecoming 2024

    Sept. 24, 2024
    Print | PDF

    Dear Laurier students,

I hope that your first few weeks of the fall term have allowed for plenty of time to make new friends, get involved in the Laurier community, and fully experience the outstanding student experience for which Laurier is known. It’s been so exciting to see so many of your faces back on campus.

This week Laurier celebrates Homecoming – Wednesday, Sept. 25 to Sunday, Sept. 29 – a time for us to welcome our Laurier alumni home and collectively celebrate our purple and gold pride. This means coming together as a community in a safe, inclusive, and respectful manner at a wide variety of events hosted by Laurier Alumni, the Students’ Union, and Student Experience teams.

As you plan for Homecoming festivities, let’s make your safety – and the safety of others – a top priority.

To help ensure our students and neighbours are safe, there will be an increased police presence on campus and in nearby neighbourhoods this weekend. Please show respect to all first responders as they are here to help you. There will be a zero-guest policy in student residences, and those living in residences and university-owned apartments will be required to wear wristbands.

I encourage everyone to review our Safety Tips for information on how to stay safe during Homecoming, and to think about the impact of your choices.

Attend an organized Homecoming event with your friends and join your fellow Hawks in upholding the safe, inclusive, and respectful community environment that makes Laurier special, such as:

    • Trivia Night
    • Selfie with Midas
    • Outdoor Movie Night
    • Pancake Breakfast
    • Football Game
    • SU Student Zone at the Football Game
    • Homecoming Clean-Up
    • Additional sporting events

Be safe and have a golden Homecoming!
