Laurier Professor Nathan Vo is the recipient of the 2025 Early Career Award from the Society for In Vitro Biology
Nathan Vo, an assistant professor in Wilfrid Laurier University’s Department of Health Studies, has received the 2025 Early Career Award from the Society for In Vitro Biology (SIVB) in recognition of his outstanding contributions and achievements in the in vitro sciences.
In the award announcement, SIVB President Dr. Piero Barone states that Vo’s “involvement and dedication within the society has impacted the careers of many students, young scientists and colleagues.”
Vo is only the second Canadian to be awarded the distinction.
“This award is a credit to Nathan’s incredible contributions to the field of in vitro science,” says Bruce McKay, dean of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences. “I am proud to see a Laurier faculty member receive this prestigious honour, which reflects the excellence in research of our Laurier Brantford faculty members.”
Vo will receive the award in person at the 2025 In Vitro Biology conference in Norfolk, Virginia this June.
Vo joined Laurier’s Department of Health Studies as a full-time faculty member in 2022 and teaches Applied Health Sciences and Physical Forensics courses. In 2020, he received the Ontario Minister of Colleges and Universities’ Award of Excellence for university teaching.
