    Guest Information for Convocation

    As we celebrate the remarkable achievements of our future Laurier alumni, we extend a warm welcome to their cherished guests. 

    Whether you're a proud parent, family member or friend, here is where you'll find all the details for your convocation experience. 

    Ceremony Locations

    Brantford Ceremonies

    Our Brantford ceremonies are held at The Sanderson Centre for Performing Arts at 88 Dalhousie Street.

    Complimentary parking is available at Laurier owned lots on Charlotte St. and Wellington St. You can find detailed parking information on the City of Brantford's website for other municipally and privately owned lots in close proximilty to the venue. 

    Waterloo Ceremonies

    Our Waterloo ceremonies are held at Lazaridis Hall, 65 University Avenue West.

    Complimentary parking is available in the parking lots closest to Lazaridis Hall in our white and gold parking lots. Our staff attendants will be on site to assist and direct you and your guests to available parking lots.

    Can't Attend the Ceremony In-Person?

    You don't have to miss out on celebrating your Laurier graduate. The ceremonies will be streamed live on the Laurier Live webpage.

    Tips & Reminders for a Memorable Convocation Day

    • Give yourself time. Make sure you arrive early and leave ample time to park, walk to the venue and select your seats. 
    • Have your tickets ready. Guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult guest. Children under 2, who will sit on a lap, do not require a ticket.
    • Bring only what is permitted into the venue. Only bottled water is allowed in the Lazaridis Hall auditorium. Other food, beverages and strollers are strictly prohibted in Lazaridis Hall. 
    • Plan your time at the ceremony. Our ceremonies are about 60 to 90 minutes long.
    • Know where to find assistance. Look for our Guest Services station if you have any questions or require assistance.

    Get Gifts

    The Hawk Shop hosts pop-up outlets at our venue locations with a selection of gifts available for purchase. 

    Feel free to browse or shop ahead on the Hawk Shop website where you'll find commemorative items such as degree frames, apparel or even the grad bear!

    Accommodation Requests

    Accessibility and accommodation requests are made by graduates through the convocation portal when claiming tickets.

    Both our venues are equipped with: 

    • large screens to view the event in real-time, 
    • professional AV specialists who ensure an optimal auditory and visual experience, 
    • washrooms, and 
    • seating.

    Campus Safety

    We encourage all guests attending campus events to download our mobile safety application SAFEHawk.  The app features campus-specific emergency contacts at all Laurier locations, personal support resources, safety tips, news feeds and accessibility information.

    Visitors are encouraged to download SAFEHawk and enable notifications to receive time-sensitive alert. SAFEHawk is available as a free download for Apple or Android.
