Indigenous Student Services staff provide student-facing supports. We are the welcoming faces here, supporting Indigenous students' educational journey. The ISS team is part of the larger Office of Indigenous Initiatives, which is responsible for Indigenization at Laurier.

Shé:kon sewakwé:kon! Zeeta yónkyats, Ononta’kehá:ka nì’i. Ohswé:ken nitewaké:no. I am Zeeta (akaónha/she/her) and I am Onondaga from Six Nations of the Grand River. As the manager I support the ISS team, escalated student supports, and lead Indigenous student focused initiatives at Laurier. I've worked in Indigenous Student Affairs for ten years in various roles and have an Honours Bachelors in Indigenous Studies and a Masters in Indigenous Educational Leadership, both from Western University.

I am Margaret, Misko Nodin (she/her), Indigenous Student Counsellor. I am Ojibway Anishinaabekwe from Batchewana First Nation located on the Eastern shores of Lake Superior. I offer 1:1 counselling appointments, deliver workshops from Indigenous teachings and coordinate the Elders program. I am a ceremonialist and offer trauma informed wholistic healing approaches focusing on mental health wellness (mind, body, spirit and emotion). As an experienced guide, establishing mutual trust and safety are my top priorities while understanding your identity and Indigeneity, emotional processing and cultural awareness.

She:kon! My name is Ryan (him/him/they/them)! I am Cayuga Nation from the Six Nations of the Grand River and I am Turtle clan. I completed my undergrad at York U, I am working on my Masters at Laurier and I hope to complete a PhD in the next few years. I’m here to welcome you and introduce you to the wonderful community we have here at Laurier. I assist prospective students with the OUAC application process, answering admissions related questions and organizing tours or programming for prospective students.

I (she/her) was born and raised in Kitchener Ontario and am a member of Lac Seul First Nation. I am a Laurier alum and graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Social Work and my Masters of Social Work, Indigenous Field of Study. As a student, I worked closely with Margaret Neveau at the Indigenous Student Centre, was a part of the Indigenous Students' Association and have worked as the Indigenous Student Recruitment Coordinator. In my current role, I provide support and programming for online and in-person students at Laurier’s Brantford campus.

I (she/her) am Mohawk First Nations of the Haudenosaunee on my father’s side. I grew up in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region and am an alumna of Laurier with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. I offer individualistic support to meet each student’s unique situation. I support our Waterloo, Kitchener, and Milton Campus students, and design and implement programming for the Indigenous Student Centre on the Waterloo Campus.

I am a proud alumna of Wilfrid Laurier University, where I earned both my Honours Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work, Indigenous Field of Study. I provide culturally grounded one-on-one student support and facilitate study skills workshops designed to empower and uplift. Onkwehonwe student success is at the heart of my work.
