Tame Your Shame
Recognize, Refer, Respond
Exam and Performance Anxiety
March 9 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Zoom
March 23 from 2 to 3 p.m. in person, Waterloo campus (Peters 119)
Life at Laurier is demanding and sometimes overwhelming. The sneaky voice of shame can make everything feel harder. If you're tired of just surviving, join us for Tame Your Shame. We will discuss how shame is a common experiencing and a coping strategy. You will learn how to make sense of your emotional responses, how to reassure yourself and use self-compassion as a tool to quiet your inner critic and much more. Register here.
March 10 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Zoom
March 24 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in person, Waterloo campus (Peters 119)
Recognize, Respond, Refer will give you practical guidance on identifying signs of stress, distress, or crisis in your friends and fellow students. You will gain confidence in knowing what to listen for, how to respond effectively, and where to refer at Laurier and off-campus. Register here.
April 2 from 1:30 to 2:30 on Zoom
This workshop will help you learn how to reduce your anxiety for a test or exam, a presentation, your thesis defence, or a concert. We will talk about how to prepare in advance and how to cope on the day. Register here.
