Community and Culture
For students looking to expand their minds, explore their creativity, and engage in hands on, holistic learning, the library and its Robert Langen Art Gallery are places to…
- Experience: Take in a concert, film screening, play, art exhibit, fashion show, or poetry reading presented by fellow students, community artists, or nationally recognized stars.
- Create: Hone you skills in photography, painting, writing and more through new series of creative workshops and mentorship opportunities.
- Share: Put on a performance, exhibit your artwork, record your music, or get help marketing your creations.
- Connect: Join a community of like-minded students, hang out, collaborate, and develop connections and networks to last a lifetime.
Community engagement and holistic learning have always been big parts of the Laurier experience, and we take great pride in supporting these key facets of what it means to be a Golden Hawk.
Story Exchange Culture Series
The Story Exchange Culture Series is a program of events at the Laurier Library, including artist exhibits, musical performances, author readings and more.
Currently, the Story Exchange Culture Series is focused on three streams of activity:
- Exhibits in the library: Installations by artists, researchers and other creatives in new exhibition spaces in the university’s Waterloo campus library.
- Authors in the library: Readings and “human library” events as well as a biannual community author program for authors in the Laurier community who have recently published books or monographs.
- Music in the library: A series of concerts at Laurier’s Waterloo campus library featuring students from the university’s renowned Faculty of Music.
