Academic Support
Academic research can be daunting and stressful – with so much important information tucked away in so many locations, it is often hard to know where to start.
Fortunately, the library is here to help you to succeed in your studies, with a friendly, personalized approach that we aim to tailor to each student’s unique needs.
For students seeking academic tools and support, the library is a place to…
Tap into a vast collection of research materials:
- Find journal articles, databases, books, and so much more. (And if our library doesn’t have it, one of our partner institutions probably will.)
- Review course and subject guides to get a quick and handy “need-to-know” for doing research for your course or major.
Access a wide range of study spaces:
- Set up in one of our hundreds of individual carrels for quiet study and focused research.
- Book a group study room and bring your team together in a convenient on-campus location.
- Retreat to “silent seven” – our totally silent floor of the Waterloo campus Library – for sessions of deep individual study and reflection.
Take advantage of expert research assistance:
- Attend workshops on research and study tricks of the trade to help boost your GPA.
- Book a one-on-one research consultation with an expert Librarian in your area of study to help you ace that challenging paper.
Visit the library website and learn more about how we can help you to excel in your coursework and make the most of your studies.
