Are you looking to connect with other incoming classmates, senior students, clubs, student collectives, campus resources, and more? Join us from July 22-25 at Get Connected Week for interactive online events to connect you with the Laurier Community!

Registration is required for Get Connected Week events. You can register for each event by clicking on the Zoom link in the schedule below! Remember to Activate your student email and check it regularly to stay informed.
Get Connected Week events will be hosted through Zoom. Before you register and attend the events, make sure to set up and configure your Zoom account.
MONDAY, JULY 22
9:00-10:00 a.m. ET
Join one of our upper-year International Student leaders, Shelley, in getting to know more about your international peers and about life as an international student at Laurier. Play games, participate in icebreakers, and have a chance to ask upper-year students about preparing for life in Canada.
1:30-2:30 p.m. ET
Join Your Students' Union to learn about all the ways you can get engaged and involved this year and beyond. Whether it is through joining a club, association or committee or by participating in the wide variety of events and programs offered. We are confident that the Students' Union has something for you!
Come learn about how to get connected and involved to meet new people, build your community and better your student experience!
5:00-6:00 p.m. ET
Attention all Mature and Transfer students! Come out to our first MTS social of the year. Meet fellow Mature and Transfer students from all campuses and have your questions answered! We understand that being a Mature and Transfer student is a alternative experience to the typical university student, so come mix, mingle and learn about all the supports Laurier has to offer!
*Laurier defines a Mature student as someone above 21 years of age in their first year of study, and a Transfer student as a student transferring from another post-secondary institution.

Calling all Milton Golden Hawks! Looking to meet other Milton campus students? Like playing online games such as Jackbox and Scribbl.io? Join our upper year Laurier students for the first-ever Milton student social!
TUESDAY, JULY 23
2:00-3:00 p.m. ET
There’s no “I” in “school”, so why go it alone? University can be a team effort with the right supports in place! In this session, we will learn about the importance of support networks and explore strategies for building support networks during university. We will also discuss the wellness services that are available to you as a Laurier student. Attendees will also have time to start building community with other students.
5:00-6:00 p.m. ET
Calling all off-campus students! Join the Laurier Off-Campus University Students (LOCUS) program to learn more about living off-campus in your first year. This event will feature upper year Laurier students who lived off-campus themselves. These students are eager to share tips and tricks to help you connect with campus resources, make friends, get involved in the Laurier community. Be sure to join us to meet other first year students and participate in fun activities.
7:30-8:30 p.m. ET
Calling all incoming Laurier Golden Hawks! Are you feeling nervous about meeting new people in university? Are you excited to connect with like-minded individuals at Laurier? This speed friending event will allow you to get to know fellow incoming Golden Hawks through provided ice-breaker style questions and games. Join your Summer Hosts to get to know fellow Laurier students and create some familiar faces in advance of your September start.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 24

Have questions about supports for Black students at Laurier? Come and chat with staff from across campus to learn about supports, resources, and events, and to share what you hope to experience during your time at Laurier! Come ready to ask your questions, share your suggestions, and meet some new folks.

Join Laurier Off-Campus University Students (LOCUS) and the Residence team to learn about getting involved in your first year! Attendees will be able to receive information surrounding what to expect this September and where to stay posted for updates. Be sure join us to learn about student councils, first year student events, and opportunities for leadership development.

Get ready for deception and strategy in our Among Us Tournament! 🛸🔍 Team up with fellow students, complete tasks, and find the impostor before it's too late. Join us for a thrilling and fun-filled event that’s sure to keep you on your toes!
THURSDAY, JULY 25

Join the Centre for Student Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (CSEDI) to find community, engage in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives, learn about support, education, and spaces for students. You’ll also have the opportunity to learnabout student collectives who lead a transformative culture of change through sharing knowledge, resources, and hosting events. We can’t wait to meet you!
