How to Apply for Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards
We encourage all students to submit their award application(s) through LORIS to be considered for competitive scholarship, award, and bursary opportunities. To learn more about the system and how to use it, see the LORIS Information Page.
How to Complete an Awards Application
Before you get started, here are some reminders:
- Check your MyLaurier email regularly for application updates.
- Submit your application on time because late submissions will not be accepted.
To begin a new application:
- Log in to LORIS.
- Click the Student Services tab.
- Find the Awards and Financial Aid card.
- Click the Apply for Student Aid link to start a new application.
To view, edit, or complete an existing application:
- Log in to LORIS.
- Click the Student Services tab.
- Find the Awards and Financial Aid card.
- Click the View My Applications link.
You can edit and complete your submissions up until the deadline of the application. If you edit the application after submitting it previously, ensure that the application shows as Submitted on the View My Applications page. Once the deadline has passed, your application will show the status of "EXPIRED".
Upload a Document
- Log in to LORIS.
- Open the application section that requires the document.
- Click Upload your document here.
- Click Choose File, then select your PDF document.
- Click Upload Document.
View Your Uploaded Document
- After uploading, click View your document here to confirm your document (This link only appears after you have successfully uploaded a document)
Re-upload or Add Pages
- Click View your document here (This link only appears after you have uploaded a document)
- Drag your new document onto the page and choose an option from the drop-down menu:
- New Page Version: Replace the existing page.
- Insert Before, Insert After, or Append: Add new pages in the desired position.
Alternatively:
- Select Page in the top corner of the window:
- Click New Version to replace the existing document.
- Click New Page, to insert before, insert after, or append a new document.
You can review and make changes to your submissions up until the deadline. View your submissions by selecting the "View my Applications" tab. Make sure the application shows as "submitted."
Check your Dates and Deadlines
Complete your award profiles and applications so that you don't miss out on awards, scholarships and bursaries you may be eligible for.
Check the awards important dates and deadlines to give yourself enough time to gather your required documents and make sure you apply for an award on time.

Decision Making
Recipients of competitive opportunities are notified via their @mylaurier.ca email between October and March.
All decisions regarding awards are at the discretion of the Student Awards Office. Decisions on recipients for all competitive opportunities are made on an ongoing basis.
If you complete the profile, there is no guarantee that you will be the successful recipient of an award. The profiles are competitive opportunities and the most eligible candidate(s) is chosen as the recipient.
If you do not receive an award this year, this does not mean that you will not be eligible in another year. By filling out the profile(s) every year, you will have the best opportunity to receive an award!
