Whether you're looking to fund an on-campus event, attend a conference, or have another proposal for a special project, Laurier offers extra-curricular funding opportunities to help realize your goals and enhance your student experience.
Check out some of the available opportunities based on your project or interests.
The Campus Experience Fund, administered by the Dean of Students Office, supports individual students, student groups, or student-focused initiatives led by students, staff and/or faculty.
Funding is intended to enhance the student experience through extra-curricular or co-curricular activities that contribute meaningfully to student life at Laurier. This may include initiatives such as attending or supporting student participation in conferences, launching student-led projects, hosting guest speakers, organizing case competitions, and more.
The Campus Experience Fund includes two distinct streams to support different types of opportunities. The Conferences and Training stream focuses on professional development opportunities such as conferences, workshops, certifications, and training. The Events and Student Engagement stream supports initiatives that promote student involvement, community-building, and campus engagement through events and programming.
Please note the previously mentioned Professional Development Supplementary Assistance Program, Student Horizon Fund and Campus Experience Fund have been combined in this process.
Applications for the Campus Experience Fund are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed every two weeks, while funding remains available. You can expect to receive a response within two weeks of submitting your application.
Applicants will be contacted whether their applications were accepted or not.
Eligibility
Please submit a Campus Experience Fund Conferences & Training Application to be considered for funding.
The Dean of Students Office is currently re-evaluating our funding application processes for student events and engagement opportunities. Please reach out to campusexperiencefund@wlu.ca if you have any questions or would like to discuss a funding application.
The Student Life Levy (SLL) was initiated to support projects that couldn’t otherwise happen! Specifically, the SLL looks to support projects that improve the lives of Laurier students. This includes projects that provide increased opportunity to engage in activities leading to improved personal health and wellness, or increased opportunity for you to engage with other students and your environment in a culture of learning, outside of physical classroom space.
The Sustainability Office dedicates up to $30,000 annually to help grow sustainability ideas that benefit the Laurier community (including you) through the Sustainable Hawk Fund (SHF). We want to leverage Laurier’s entrepreneurial and community spirit by engaging students such as yourself, faculty and staff to integrate sustainability practices into all aspects of student life at Laurier.
