Indigenous Student Services and Laurier 101 are here to support your transition to university. Starting in June, various events and support services are available to you, regardless of your campus.
SEEDs is open to undergraduate students entering their first year at Laurier, including transfer students, to help provide a strong start to the academic year.
Each orientation day includes community building, campus tours, and workshops on various topics like writing, managing anxiety, time management, and finances.

Each year we invite incoming undergraduate students to a two-day orientation program at the end of August, right before Orientation and Residence move in begins!
Day one: Early move in (if you are living in residence) and getting to know the Indigenous Student Centre, Indigenous Student Services staff, and all about university. Your family and community are invited to join in too!
Day two: Let’s get to know campus, get a head start on key academic skills like writing and time management, learn how to regulate emotions, and get to know one another a bit better! This day is specifically for incoming students only.
Students from the Waterloo, Milton, and Online campuses are welcome to attend.

As a transfer student, there are additional steps to prepare for your first year at Laurier. Our office provides support in the following ways:
Students in their first year at Laurier are encouraged to participate in our SEEDs program.
SEEDs engages students in academic, social and cultural workshops and creates space for students to meet 1:1 with their Indigenous Support Coordintor and Counsellor. Students who participate throughout the year are eligible to receive a stipend.
This program is open to all first-year students, including transfer, mature, part-time, and full-time students.
