One of the first things you'll do as a residence student is attend your Community Meeting on move-in day! This is your chance to meet your Residence Life Don, get to know the other students on your floor, and start making connections from day one. You'll learn about your new home, discover the supports and resources available to you, and get a preview of all the exciting events and programs happening throughout Orientation Week. Bring your questions, introduce yourself to your neighbours, and take the first step toward building a fun, welcoming, and supportive community together.
Where: Your Residence Life Don will communicate this information to you upon your arrival, and it will be posted around your community with the meeting location.

All residence students are required to attend the Building Meeting on move-in day. This is your opportunity to meet the Residence staff who will support you throughout the year, including your Dons, Residence Education Advisor (REA), Residence Impact Coach (RIC), and Residence Life Area Coordinator (RLAC).
You'll also connect with students from across your building, learn about residence expectations, discover the many resources available to support your success, and hear about exciting opportunities to get involved throughout the year. Together, we'll set the foundation for a respectful, welcoming, and inclusive community where everyone can thrive.

Intended Audience: New to Laurier Off-Campus Students
LOCUS is excited to welcome first-year undergraduate off-campus students to our Off-Campus Welcome Day! This event is offered in Brantford and Waterloo to kick off Orientation programming!
We want to make sure your first day on campus as a Golden Hawk is filled with opportunities to meet other first-year students and learn about life at Laurier. At the event, students will be able to connect with their upper-year mentors (Off-Campus Advisors and Icebreakers) for Orientation and the year ahead!

Looking for a place to hang out between Orientation events? Stop by the LOCUS Orientation Hub! This is a dedicated space for off-campus first-year students to relax, recharge, and meet new people throughout the day.

CONCERT POLICIES AND NOTES
Attendees are expected to follow all venue and event policies, as well as the direction of event staff and security.
Venue Entrance & Re-Entry
- All attendees are subject to security screening upon entry.
- The concert entrance is located along the walkway to the left of the Boston Pizza/Kingpin building. Please do not enter through the building to access the concert.
- Concert attendees are welcome to enter the Boston Pizza/Kingpin building to use the arcade and bowling facilities. These activities are not included with your concert ticket and will be at your own expense.
- Please bring your Laurier student ID with you to the event. It may be required for entry or access to student-only and 19+ areas.
- Please note: There are no re-entry privileges for the concert. Once you leave the concert area, you will not be permitted to re-enter.
Transportation
- Bussing will be available to and from Laurier's Waterloo campus and Bingemans.
- Additional information about pickup locations and schedules will be provided closer to the event.
- Parking is available at the venue.
Weather Policy
- The concert is an outdoor event and will take place rain or shine unless severe or inclement weather makes the event unsafe.
- In the event of cancellation due to weather, every effort will be made to reschedule the concert for a later date.
Food and Beverage
- Food and beverages will be available for purchase on site. No external food or beverages will be permitted
- A designated beer garden will be available for attendees who are 19+.
- Anyone wishing to access the beer garden or other 19+ areas must provide both a valid Laurier student ID and government-issued photo ID.
Smoking
- A designated smoking area will be available for attendees who are 19+.
Bag & Item Policy
- For the safety and security of all attendees, all bags and personal items are subject to inspection upon entry.
- Small clutches and wristlets up to approximately 6"" x 9"" are permitted.
- Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags up to approximately 12"" x 6"" x 12"" are permitted and recommended.
- Large backpacks, oversized bags, and large non-clear bags are not permitted.
- Weapons, illegal substances, glass containers, and other prohibited or dangerous items are not permitted.
- Professional cameras, recording equipment, and other large photography equipment are not permitted.
- Items that could disrupt the event or pose a safety concern may be refused entry at the discretion of venue or event security.
Please leave prohibited items at home, as there is no bag or item check available at the venue.

Orientation Headquarters: If you have questions or need to check in for Orientation and get your wristband and O-Kit, you can do so by visiting the SU Desk located on the 2nd floor of the Fred Nichols Campus Centre (FNCC) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
