LOCUS is excited to welcome first-year undergraduate off-campus students to our Off-Campus Welcome Day! This event is offered in Brantford and Waterloo to kick off Orientation programming!

We want to make sure your first day on campus as a Golden Hawk is filled with opportunities to meet other first-year students and learn about life at Laurier. At the event, students will be able to connect with their upper-year mentors (Off-Campus Advisors and Icebreakers) for Orientation and the year ahead!

Join us for a live fire demonstration during Orientation Week and learn essential fire safety skills for campus life. Watch a controlled grease fire scenario in a specialized training trailer and see why water should never be used on a grease fire. Fire safety experts from Laurier and Waterloo Fire Rescue will be available to share safety information, answer questions, and help you stay fire safe both on and off campus.

Character Creation in Dungeons and Dragons!
Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) is a major part of our club. During the school year, members can interview for DM positions or sign up to join the available campaigns! Additionally, we hope to test out the characters by running scenarios that are often seen in campaigns to learn some of the dice-rolling mechanics D&D offers!

Concert Shuttle Information

Getting to and from the concert is easy with our shuttle service between the Northdale Parking Lot (66 Hickory St. W, Waterloo) and Bingemans (425 Bingemans Centre Dr, Kitchener).

Before the Concert

• Shuttle buses will begin departing from Northdale Lot at 4:30 p.m.
• Buses will leave every 30 minutes until 7 p.m.
• A total of 10 buses will be running, traveling in groups of 5 buses at a time.
• Doors open at 5 p.m.
• Concert starts at 7 p.m.
• The 7 p.m. departure is the final pre-concert shuttle to Bingemans.

⚠️ We strongly encourage students to arrive early. Demand for shuttles is expected to increase closer to the concert start time, and students who wait for the final departures may experience longer wait times and busier loading areas.

During the Concert (7 to 11 p.m.)

• Two shuttle buses will continuously travel between Bingemans and Northdale.
• Shuttles will run approximately once per hour for students who need to leave early or return to campus.

After the Concert

• Beginning at 11 p.m., all 10 buses will return to service to bring students back to Northdale.
• Buses will depart every 30 minutes

⚠️ The highest demand for shuttles is expected immediately following the concert. Students leaving right at the end of the event should anticipate longer lines and wait times.

🚨 Don't miss the last bus! The final shuttle from Bingemans to Northdale departs at 12:30 a.m.

CONCERT POLICIES AND NOTES

Attendees are expected to follow all venue and event policies, as well as the direction of event staff and security.

Venue Entrance & Re-Entry

• All attendees are subject to security screening upon entry.
• The concert entrance is located along the walkway to the left of the Boston Pizza/Kingpin building. Please do not enter through the building to access the concert.
• Concert attendees are welcome to enter the Boston Pizza/Kingpin building to use the arcade and bowling facilities. These activities are not included with your concert ticket and will be at your own expense.
• Please bring your Laurier student ID with you to the event. It may be required for entry or access to student-only and 19+ areas.
• Please note: There are no re-entry privileges for the concert. Once you leave the concert area, you will not be permitted to re-enter.

Weather Policy

• The concert is an outdoor event and will take place rain or shine unless severe or inclement weather makes the event unsafe.
• In the event of cancellation due to weather, every effort will be made to reschedule the concert for a later date.

Food and Beverage

• Food and beverages will be available for purchase on site. No external food or beverages will be permitted
• A designated beer garden will be available for attendees who are 19+.
• Anyone wishing to access the beer garden or other 19+ areas must provide both a valid Laurier student ID and government-issued photo ID.

Smoking

• A designated smoking area will be available for attendees who are 19+.

Bag & Item Policy

• For the safety and security of all attendees, all bags and personal items are subject to inspection upon entry.
• Small clutches and wristlets up to approximately 6"" x 9"" are permitted.
• Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags up to approximately 12"" x 6"" x 12"" are permitted and recommended.
• Large backpacks, oversized bags, and large non-clear bags are not permitted.
• Weapons, illegal substances, glass containers, and other prohibited or dangerous items are not permitted.
• Professional cameras, recording equipment, and other large photography equipment are not permitted.
• Items that could disrupt the event or pose a safety concern may be refused entry at the discretion of venue or event security.

Please leave prohibited items at home, as there is no bag or item check available at the venue.

Join us for our Shinerama BBQ and enjoy a delicious burger, chips, and a pop while supporting a great cause! Every purchase helps raise funds for Shinerama, Canada's largest post-secondary fundraiser in support of cystic fibrosis research and care.

One night, three incredible acts! Start the evening with an interactive bingo experience, laugh along with a comedian, and finish the night with an astonishing performance by mentalist and hypnotist Savio Joseph. Whether you're there to play, laugh, or be amazed, Variety Night has something for everyone.

When: 7 to 10:30 p.m.

Try out a fun twist on water polo where all participants play while floating in "donut" inner tubes. It's fast-paced and very beginner-friendly.

While you're at the game, be sure to visit the Shinerama table! The Laurier Students' Union will be at the University Stadium with a donation booth and free airbrush art, all in support of Cystic Fibrosis Canada, Canada's largest post-secondary fundraising movement for CF research and care. Stop by to learn more, donate, and get free airbrush art while showing your support for a cause that makes a difference.
