One of the first things you'll do as a residence student is attend your Community Meeting on move-in day! This is your chance to meet your Residence Life Don, get to know the other students on your floor, and start making connections from day one. You'll learn about your new home, discover the supports and resources available to you, and get a preview of all the exciting events and programs happening throughout Orientation Week. Bring your questions, introduce yourself to your neighbours, and take the first step toward building a fun, welcoming, and supportive community together.
Where: Your Residence Life Don will communicate this information to you upon your arrival, and it will be posted around your community with the meeting location.

You'll also connect with students from across your building, learn about residence expectations, discover the many resources available to support your success, and hear about exciting opportunities to get involved throughout the year. Together, we'll set the foundation for a respectful, welcoming, and inclusive community where everyone can thrive.

Intended Audience: New to Laurier Off-Campus Students
LOCUS is excited to welcome first-year undergraduate off-campus students to our Off-Campus Welcome Day! This event is offered in Brantford and Waterloo to kick off Orientation programming!
We want to make sure your first day on campus as a Golden Hawk is filled with opportunities to meet other first-year students and learn about life at Laurier. At the event, students will be able to connect with their upper-year mentors (Off-Campus Advisors and Icebreakers) for Orientation and the year ahead!

Intended Audience: New to Laurier students enrolled in a Lazaridis School undergraduate program
Start your Lazaridis experience by connecting with programs, departments, clubs, services, faculty, and fellow students at an interactive open house-style reception. Enjoy snacks and refreshments, meet upper-year students and Instructional Assistants, participate in a fun engagement activity for a chance to win Lazaridis prize packs, and capture the moment at the Lazaridis photo station.
Following the reception, students will gather for a faculty welcome featuring the Dean, Associate Dean(s), and key first-year instructors. Learn about opportunities available through the Lazaridis School, hear advice and personal reflections from faculty members, and discover what you can look forward to in your first year.

Join us for a live fire demonstration during Orientation Week and learn essential fire safety skills for campus life. Watch a controlled grease fire scenario in a specialized training trailer and see why water should never be used on a grease fire. Fire safety experts from Laurier and Waterloo Fire Rescue will be available to share safety information, answer questions, and help you stay fire safe both on and off campus.
