At Laurier, Student Success is for everyone! Our team provides academic skills support in the areas of numeracy, studying, and writing. We also offer one-on-one appointments, programs and workshops to help you succeed in your course work. We understand that academic life can be challenging, and this is why we're here. We’ve created a wide variety of programs and resources for you to thrive at university, from your first day through to graduation.

Student Success Portal Assignment Planner Laurier 101 ASPIRE

Work for Student Success

Help your fellow students grow their numeracy, studying, and writing skills while gaining professional experience in student affairs. Student Success offers ongoing mentorship and training for student staff as peer tutors and coaches.

You can apply for available positions through Navigator.

Math and Course Support

Drop-in Help Session Peer Tutor:
- Hiring: Check Navigator at the end of Feb. 2027
- Passionate about helping others succeed in their courses? As a Peer Tutor, you'll support students with quantitative and problem-based subjects, helping them to better understand challenging concepts and to develop effective problem-solving strategies. You'll create a welcoming learning environment where students can ask questions, build understanding, and gain confidence in their abilities. This role is a great opportunity to strengthen your communication, problem-solving, and mentorship skills while making a meaningful impact on student success.

Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader
- Hiring: Check Navigator at the end of Feb. 2027
- Do you enjoy mentoring others, facilitating discussions, and fostering student success? As an SI Leader, you'll create a supportive and collaborative learning environment where students can actively engage with course material and learn alongside their peers. Through weekly SI sessions, you'll help students strengthen their understanding of key concepts, develop effective learning strategies, and build confidence. This role is a great opportunity to develop your leadership, facilitation, and communication skills.

Study Skills:

Peer Academic Coaches
- Hiring: Check Navigator at the end of Feb. 2027
- Support fellow students as they navigate university life by providing one-on-one and group academic coaching and encouragement. Peer Academic Coaches help students build effective study habits, improve time management, reduce procrastination, and develop strategies for academic success. This role is a great opportunity to strengthen your leadership, communication, and mentoring skills while making a meaningful impact on campus.
Laurier 101 Hosts
- Hiring: Check Navigator at the end of Feb. 2027
- Become a Laurier 101 Summer Student Host and help welcome the next generation of Golden Hawks! Gain valuable leadership, communication, and event experience while supporting incoming students as they navigate their transition to university. If you're enthusiastic about campus life, love connecting with people, and want a meaningful summer job, this is the role for you.

Writing Support:

Writing Tutor
- Hiring: Check Navigator at the end of Feb. 2027
- As a Writing Tutor, you'll help students turn their ideas into impactful writing through personalized one-on-one support. You'll work with students at all stages of the writing process, supporting them with everything from developing ideas to polishing final drafts. Perfect for students who enjoy mentorship, collaboration, and helping others achieve their academic goals.
