Laurier 101: Incoming Student Support for Fall Students

Congratulations and welcome, Golden Hawk! From the time you accept your offer until the first week of classes and beyond, we're here for you.

Laurier 101 is a campus-wide program that provides exclusive content to you and your supporters to prepare you for the time you'll spend at Laurier both inside and outside of the classroom.

We'll assist you with the course registration process, show you how to navigate the world of university learning and help you understand what it's like to be a student in the Laurier community. Stay connected and stay golden as you prepare. We're so excited to meet you.

What's New in July?

Laurier's network of student support is here to help you navigate the steps to becoming a Golden Hawk, so you arrive in September feeling prepared to thrive.

Our Student Success team will walk you through what you need to do in the month of July to be prepared for your fall start. 

Your July Checklist

We'll be updating the checklists each month to make sure you're staying on track. We have a variety of supports to help you get ready for September, so be sure to join us online and check them out.

 Register for the Summer Kick-Off Party.

 Regularly check your MyLaurier student email.

 Register for summer webinars.

 Complete the Student Self-Identification form.

 Register with Accessible Learning for academic accommodations and disability-related needs.

 Download Microsoft Teams.

Register for Your Courses

There is a lot to consider when you're selecting your university courses. Follow the tips below to make sure you're prepared for course registration day.

Prepare

It's all about the preparation! Here are some things that you can do so you're prepared for when registration opens. 

Register

Now that you're all prepared, it's time to complete the registration process. Registration for incoming first-year students opened June 25, 2025 at 3 p.m. ET.

Follow the steps on the Course Registration Guide: Step 4.

Check Your Work

  • Fill out the Registration Check Form to have your registration reviewed by an Academic Advisor.
  • Remember to fully complete Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 registration.

Get Connected Week

Join us July 21-24 for Get Connected Week for interactive online events to connect you with the Laurier Community!

Academic Prep Week

Attend our sessions during the week of August 18-22. These sessions are designed to set you up for academic success in your first year and allow you to experience what being a university student is like.

Summer Webinar Series

We know you have questions and we've got answers! Our summer webinar series begins in July and covers topics including financial supports and pre-arrival considerations for international students!

Attend Orientation

Orientation at Laurier is a long-standing tradition that kick-starts your time as a Golden Hawk. Orientation 2025 information will be available over the summer. Follow @yourstudentsunion on Instagram for more updates and information!

Student Experience Tours

Want help navigating campus before fall 2025 classes begin? Sign up for a tour in July or August to discover the best study spaces on campus, learn about campus departments and resources, and ask questions to a fellow Golden Hawk.

Campus Community

Our campus partners are here to provide you with academic, social and wellness supports, so that you can focus on what matters most – thriving at Laurier and having a great university experience!

Accessible Learning 

Did you receive academic accommodations in high school or have a registered disability? We strongly recommend registering with Accessible Learning as early in the summer as you can, so that  the accommodations and supports you may need throughout the term are ready to go by the time September rolls around. 

Indigenous Student Services 

Are you a First Nations, Métis, or Inuit student looking to connect with the Indigenous student community at Laurier? The Indigenous Student Services team is here to welcome you to campus and provide you with academic, financial, cultural, and wellness support during your university journey.

International Student Support

Get support and guidance before you even arrive on campus from workshops, checklists, and peer-to-peer support, the International Student Support team is here to help. Connect with them early to ease your transition and make the most of your university experience.

Wellness Centre

Your well-being matters to us. Check out the Wellness Centre's Here for Your Health page for important next steps for your physical and mental well-being at Laurier.
