Global Engagement Staff Listing
Learn more about the Global Engagement team! Even though we're not physically in our offices on campus, we're working remotely to continue to provide you with intercultural learning opportunities and to answer any questions you have about student mobility.
We also have a great team of Global Engagement Student Ambassadors (GESAs) who are available virtually to chat and provide you with more information about being globally engaged. Find out how to connect with our GESAs.
Mike Boylan - Coordinator, Global Engagement Programming (Waterloo)
I work on Laurier’s Waterloo campus supporting student mobility programs such as the student exchange program, faculty-led programs abroad, and international internships. I also facilitate International at Home programs including the Intercultural Certificate, and have acted as the staff advisor for the WUSC Local Committee for the past six years. As a graduate of Laurier’s Social Justice and Community Engagement (MA) program I can relate to the challenges and rewards of student life!

Allison Donahue - Student Abroad Advisor (Waterloo)
I enjoy connecting with students about outgoing exchange opportunities to study abroad for 1 or 2 terms, or a couple of weeks in the summer. I studied in Paris for 4 months on exchange during my undergrad, and it was such a meaningful experience to learn about myself, my own culture, and another culture. I love ice cream, yoga, talking about travel, and learning words in other languages. I look forward to connecting with you!

Phyllis Power - Manager, Global Engagement Programming
I have been working in post-secondary international education for over 18 years developing and supporting international mobility programs, International at Home programs, international project management and international travel risk management.
At Laurier, I manage the Global Engagement Unit, which supports our community to be engaged and aware citizens of an increasingly complex world by engaging Laurier students in experiential learning to build meaningful relationships across cultural differences; value the importance of diverse perspectives; and possess a heightened awareness and curiosity of global matters. We are committed to the transformative potential of international and intercultural education to graduate global citizens.
