Each of the departments in the Faculty of Science is committed to providing the best possible information and guidance to students for their academic programs.
We strongly encourage students enrolling in Year 1 of the Water Science and Environmental Health program to take advantage of individual advising and information sessions held each year from May through July through Laurier 101.
You can set up an appointment with an academic advisor year-round, but please note the following:
As of June 2023, the Faculty of Science is changing its procedures for advising-related services. If you would like to request an appointment regarding registration, please fill out the Faculty of Science Registration Inquiry Form. Students are kindly asked not to contact watsciadvising@wlu.ca for registration-related requests.
If you have general questions, wish to change programs or are at risk academically, see Central Advising.
If you are on academic probation, are at risk, or are a general Faculty of Science student without designation, see Science Advising.
Otherwise, continuing students in the Water Science and Environmental Health program seeking course and program advice should contact the department's academic advisor.
It is never advised to take an overload of courses. A full course load is 2.5 credits (5 courses) and if you feel that you absolutely must take six courses in a term then you should talk to your academic advisor to explore options. You always have options.
Students enrolling in courses that are additional to the normal program load are reminded that they are fully responsible for doing so and are cautioned against possible academic difficulties.
