Directed Homework Sessions

Get help from senior students to get yourself in the habit of doing your math homework and set some learning strategies.

Drop-In Help

Have a math question? Need help with that stats formula? We can help you understand concepts from a variety of quantitative-based subject areas – fundamentals, algebra, calculus, proofs, linear algebra, financial math, probability and statistics, economics, computer coding, etc.

Our drop-in sessions provide an informal peer-to-peer learning environment. No appointment needed!

Math Mentoring Program

If you're at risk of not meeting progression requirements for your program, register for the Math Mentoring Program to get help getting back on track.

Mock Midterms and Exams

One of the ways you can prepare yourself for your math tests and exams is to participate in mock tests and exams. You'll receive feedback on your answers so you can see your areas of strength and the concepts you need to review.

Supplemental Instruction (SI)

Supplemental Instruction (SI) sessions provide an opportunity to engage with course concepts in a peer-led learning community. During these one-hour sessions, you have the opportunity to actively learn with peer leaders who have successfully completed the course before you.

TriAGe

Review and deepen your understanding of core concepts, build a strong foundation and increase your chances of success in calculus with TriAGe!

TriAGe is a non-credit course designed to help prepare students who plan to enrol in an entry-level university calculus course by reinforcing fundamental skills in Trigonometry, Algebra, and Geometry.

Athlete Academic Success Program

The Athlete Academic Success Program (AASP) supports Laurier’s varsity athletes to achieve their full academic potential while accommodating training and competition schedules. Fellow varsity athletes mentor their peers to achieve success both in the classroom and on the field.

Peer Academic Coaching

Peer Academic Coaches offer peer-to-peer support for all undergraduate students to help you navigate university. Our coaching team is made up of successful senior students that want to help you get off to a good start and thoughout the term. Connect with a coach to help you build a study schedule, discuss note-taking methods, learn effective study strategies and more.

Keep Calm and Study On

Feeling the pressure in the final weeks of the term? Keep Calm and Study On!

Running in the fall and winter terms, Keep Calm and Study On offers great workshops, de-stressing fun and online resources to help you succeed in studying for finals and focusing on your personal wellness.

Progressing Past Probation (P3)

Progressing Past Probation (P3) connects students placed on academic probation with resources and supports to help them improve their academic standing.

Our diverse range of study skills workshops is designed to help you build essential skills, manage stress, and succeed both academically and personally.

Academic Skills Certificate (ASk)

Available to all students, the Academic Skills (ASk) Certificate is a collection of workshops and study skills appointments geared toward your academic success. To earn your ASk Certificate you must complete six ASk activities – a combination of study skills appointments and at least five different workshops in one term. The ASk certificate can be entered on your Laurier Experience Record.

Growing Your Strengths

The Growing Your Strengths: Resiliency Toolkit program is a five-module program that aims to help you move from surviving to thriving at university by helping you build resiliency. Resiliency can help you live with the stressors of university life by allowing you to develop coping skills to overcome common challenges you may face, while becoming stronger from them.

AcWriMo (Academic Writing Month)

Every November is Academic Writing Month, a global writing movement for undergraduates, graduates, and faculty. Join the movement and the writing staff for a weekly AcWriMo group designed to provide advice, support, and dedicated writing time for your writing goals.

Graduate Writing Café

Writing Services welcomes you to join a weekly writing community. The Graduate Writing Café is a supportive environment where you can work on your course assignments, MRP, dissertation, or any other written work.

ASPIRE supports your writing development as a graduate and postdoctoral student, helping prepare you for your chosen career path.

Graduate Writing Retreat

Join a dedicated writing community and make progress on any writing project in your graduate and postdoctoral program. Facilitated throughout May, the Graduate Writing Retreat provides dedicated writing time, discussion, and instruction to help participants grow their graduate writing skills. The program is open to all graduate students on all Laurier campuses and locations.

Scholarship Proposal Workshops

Get help writing a research proposal for Ontario Graduate Scholarships (OGS), the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), or similar grants and scholarships. In these workshops, you will learn tools to approach scholarship proposal writing with confidence by examining common features of successful proposals and learning how to apply these writing strategies in your own proposal.
