Supplemental Instruction Sessions
Weekly peer-facilitated supplemental instruction (SI) study sessions are led by trained undergraduate students known as SI Leaders, who have successfully completed the course before.
SI is an opportunity to enhance your learning, and is not a replacement for attendance at lectures, tutorials or labs. To make the most of SI, we recommend that you arrive prepared by reviewing your lecture notes before you attend the session.
Session Offerings, Dates and Times
For fall term 2024, SI sessions will be offered on campus for the following courses;
- Anatomy, HN204
- Biology, BI110

SI in MyLearningSpace
All students registered in the SI support courses list will be added to the course SI page on MyLearningSpace early in the term.
SI pages can be found in your course list on MyLearningSpace or you can search for them using your course code (e.g., CH110 – Supplemental Instruction).
If you have trouble accessing your course SI page, connect with Tammy Rowe at trowe@wlu.ca.
Attendance
While registration is not required to attend each weekly SI session, it is recommended that you arrive early because space is limited.
Attendance at SI sessions is voluntary. Some courses, but not all, offer bonus credit for attending SI sessions. Read your course syllabus for the link to your SI MyLS page and to confirm whether bonus marks are offered by your professor.
You may track your attendance through the Student Success Student Portal. It takes at least three business days for your attendance to be recorded in the Student Success Student Portal.
